Early during the 2007 high school football season South Kingstown lost to Toll Gate 21-15 on the very last play of the game. On Saturday, South Kingston beat Toll Gate 25-13 to capture the Rhode Island Division II Super Bowl.
Ponaganset captured the school's first high school football championship since 1997 by beating Moses Brown 13-6 in the Rhode Island Division III Super Bowl. The championship came just four season removed from both schools suffering through winless seasons.
It wasn't hard to pick an MVP after Classical beat Exeter/West Greenwich 34-22 Saturday to win the Rhode Island Division IV Super Bowl.
Purple running back Emanuel Tutu carried the ball 29 times for a Super Bowl record 348 yards and four touchdowns. Tutu finished the season with over 2,000 yards rushing.
